What's The Name of a Classic PC Game About a Cat Like Monte Cristo?

Or a baby gate the cats can jump but the dog can't?

Making almond roca...?
I'm trying to make almond roca, but my last attemp didn't work out. For the first half of cooking (2C butter, 2C sugar, on med-low heat), it looked great! But after that, it started to look lumpy and started separating. It looked kind of like applesauce. I cooked it on med-low heat in a large teflon pan.
Any advice? Did I maybe stir too much? I definitely didn't stir not enough.. I'm not in a humid climate or high altitude.. I am one more bad batch of almond roca away from giving up hope! Please help!|||I think that your recipe is too big. Make it in smaller batches. Here is a recipe that I found on the www.
Almond Roca Recipe
Use an inexpensive chocolate such as Hershey's. It has low cocoa butter content. If you use a premium chocolate with a high cocoa butter content, unless you temper the chocolate first (look up directions online), the cocoa butter may separate into white streaks as the melted chocolate cools.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp light corn syrup
1/2 lb butter (2 sticks - NO substitutes!)
1/2 lb. slivered almonds (2 cups)
1/2 lb. bar of regular Hershey's dark chocolate (7 oz okay)
METHOD
Do not attempt to make this on a humid or rainy day. Do not double the recipe, make one batch at a time.
1 Melt butter with sugar, syrup and water in a pan (such as a large non-stick frying pan) on medium to medium-high temperature. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon. When butter is melted, add the almonds.
2 When mixture comes to a rolling boil, set your timer for a minimum of 10 minutes and keep stirring (no more than 15 minutes). The mixture will thicken and turn darker in color. The almonds will roast. Keep stirring and cooking until you hear it crackle. If you don't cook it long enough it will not harden, so keep stirring and listen for the crackling sound.
Elise's note: I have found it very hard to distinguish between the boiling sound and the crackling sound in this recipe. A better guideline for me is by color. When the mixture turns a warm amber color, at about 11 or 12 minutes into the boiling, that's the time to pour it out. Wait too long and it will burn.
If you try to make this, please read all the comments listed below. It's actually trickier than one would think.

ROCA WEAR jeans sizes, women?
Today I ordered 3 pairs of womens Roca Wear jeans from their official website. I am so used to purchasing juniors size 7/8 jeans, so I ordered that size by habit. A few hours later, I realized that these are womens sizes. I also realized that their are no juniors sizes on the site.
My question is-- If I usually wear size 7 in juniors jeans (baby phat, etc.), what size would I wear in Roca Wear adults?

Is it safe for americans to buy property in el salvador?
my husband and i are thinking of buying some land near la libertad (roca sunzal). we have a partner who lives there and is salvadorian. we would have a lawyer draw up the partnership contract and build some bungalows to rent to travelers. any advice or resources for information would be much appreciated.|||No and No and No. A lawyer's signature in El Salvador is about as meaningful and binding as Big Foot's. How do I change a WC seat?
Hi, I have a ROCA DAMA WC. I need to tighten the seat but I can't see any way to access the fixings. Anyone have a clue how to do this?

The bottom pieces are normally wing nuts so get a hold of one wing with a locking wrench and tighten from the top with a screwdriver.|||Some seat have covers over the fixings, try prizing or sliding where the fixing should be.|||HERE'S YOUR ANSWER:

Take a hack saw blade and insert it between the porcelain and the plastic cap. Don't bother trying to un-screw... they never come off easily. Usuallythe bolts are plastic and are easily cut through. Brass will be a bit tougher but persistance is rewarded. Once done the new seat goes on in farily obvious manner and the bolts are tightened from above. Newer seats often have large nuts to go below which manage to get wedged against the toilet bowl itself and will hold themselves in place as you tighten. Then just tap the snap-in covers in place over the bolt heads. Good luck! (Or, cheerio or whatever it is you folks say!)

I cant find the tail peace from the Roca body kit for the CBR 900rr anywhere. Iv looked hopelessly on line for hrs with no success. I know that the kits are not produced any more, but there were lots of them made so someone must have one or at least know were to get one.

Do you think Luna Roca would look good with cherry cabinets and white corian counter tops? Or is it too busy? Verde fossil is a possibility too, but darker. I do not want a formal look. I cannot get a wood look because the rest of that floor is dark wood. I also have blue accents in room.|||Yes, Wilson Art is a fine product. It sounds like you are looking at samples of laminate that give the look of "tile". Luna Roca has some grey in it - try and bring the sample home first.

Is it plagiarism to copy your own previous work?
The Miami Herald fired arts and culture critic Octavio Roca after discovering he had copied substantially from articles he had written for other newspapers. Octavio Roca "produced several articles for the Herald that had been copied substantially from those he had written for newspapers where he had previously worked," executive editor Tom Fiedler wrote.
What's your opinion on this matter?|||I have two things I have to know before deciding.
First, who *owns* the content of his previous columns?
Most reporters, journalists, and other related profession work on what is known as a "work for hire" basis. That means that although they do technically write the words, the articles are owned by the newspaper that pays for them (just like the way an inventor for GE may invent a new technology, but because he invented it FOR GE, then GE owns the rights to it, not the inventor). It is ALL about the contracts and who owns what.
If this was the case, then he was writing FOR them and stealing those columns later WOULD be plagiarism. Legally there would be no debate over it.
Second, did he inform his readers that he was reusing past work?
If not, it is misrepresentation at best and that alone is fire-worthy in such a profession as his. Most professional organizations DO consider the "intent to mislead" to be what they call "text-recycling." It may not legally be considered plagiarism, but for internal company policy purposes, they may consider reusing one's own past work, if done with an intent to mislead, to be the equivalent of plagiarism and thus worthy of firing.
If it meets either of these requirements--either it was content he wrote but did not legally own or his company had policies against text-recycling--then yes, it is plagiarism.|||The answer is - yes.

What is the big deal about designer clothes anyway?
You know Roca Wear, Baby Phat, etc. I don't see where they look much better than anything else. I mean, I can buy less expensive clothing and look better than someone with designer clothes.|||Designer clothes tend to be more durable than regular clothes. However, any clothes that you take good care of will last for a long time any way. Sometimes, people feel that if they have a label on, they will be held in a higher esteem than others. Sometimes people use labels to represent status. You are right about buying less expensive stuff and making it look great. I do it all the time. I look at runwawy shows and fashion mags to see what the trends are, then I make them my own for a whole lot less.|||That crap is not designer clothing! full stop.

But I love $5 Garage shirts more! Who cares if it falls apart at that price?|||They actually look worse than other clothes. They have the name and logo plastered all about them. How does a 19 year old turning 20 dress these days? People say I dress to young?
I can say I dress kind of young and I'm trying to mature better. I just started college in march and I'm needing to become a lady. Examples on how I dress is I wear a lot of Roca Wear and Baby Phat. I make shore my shoes match very well with my outfit and I wear pink and all sorts of other colors. I mean should I be wearing perfessional clothing or what?|||People just dress normally for college...you don't need to dress up, and you'll look funny if you do it a lot.

Can you help me find a specific kind of English toffee recipe?
My grandmother made English toffee every year for Xmas when I was growing up. The recipe was not in her recipe box or books. I think it was an old recipe she learned from a relative. It was the kind where she'd put crushed walnuts on a pan, pour the hot toffee over it (I seem to recall it was mostly just butter and sugar), then pour melted chocolate on and spread it thinly over the toffee. It ended up being not TOO crunchy - almost the consistency of Almond Roca toffee but not quite as hard as that. I am having a very hard time figuring out how to explain it, but it's almost like it has a snap when you bite it but then it chews into smaller pieces easily - it's not sticky by any means. I hope someone knows exactly what I'm talking about and will gift me with a recipe that can help me recreate it! I'd love to make the toffee for my family and bring back some happy memories of Grandma's toffee.|||Try playing around with this recipe. Perhaps, instead of getting the "candy" to the hard brittle stage, cook it a bit less to a hard ball stage? Try different candy stages, you might just be able to find that perfect mix of Grandma's touch. Good luck!!
English Toffee
14 tablespoons (1 stick, plus 6 tablespoons) butter
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cold water
1/2 chopped pecans
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Dash salt
1 (6-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips or thin chocolate bars
Generously butter a cookie sheet.
Put butter, sugar, and water in a heavy pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Bring to a bubbling boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, about 10 minutes. Remove spoon from pan, and cook to a very brittle stage (300 degrees to 310 degrees F on a candy thermometer). Or, make a cold water test: candy will separate into hard, brittle threads when dropped in cold water. Remove from heat and add nuts to mixture. Add vanilla and salt. Roca WC Cisterns?
My Roca system is "Ghost FLiushing". i.e. every 30 seconds or so it executes a mini-flush all of it's own accord. How do I fix it?|||Sounds like it's a problem with the float valve/ball valve not shutting off properly, causing the water level to rise until the flush valve triggers a flush to stop your cistern from overflowing. You should be able to buy a generic valve from any basic DIY store, or you could try getting in contact with Roca's customer service to get them to send you one out for your specific cistern. Then it's just a case of shutting off the water supply to the cistern and switching them out.

When asking golf courses in cancun no one ever said anything about these! Why? Where is the actual home website for all these golf courses? I would like to see greens fees, opening dates, some course descriptions, etc. and i cant just call them because i don't have international calling! I know some of these are being made now but should be opening soon so are any of them opened yet? I would just like some legitimate info to possibly play them when in Cancun soon. What is the fountain La Roca de Catalonia in Columbia?
If you mean ColOmbia, South America, there is no such thing.
I think you mean Castellfollit de la Roca, which is in Catalonia, Spain. That's a small town, and it is the only thing I know that comes close to what you're asking about.

Can Roca be made with walnuts?

Anyone made Almond Roca, would like to hear from someone who has actually made it.?
Here is a delicious Marbled Almond Roca Recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons boiling water
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup vanilla baking chips
DIRECTIONS
Sprinkle almonds on a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 300 degrees F for 15 minutes or until toasted and golden brown; remove from the oven and set aside. In a saucepan over low heat, cook butter and sugar for 5 minutes. Add water and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook, stirring occasionally, until a candy thermometer reads 300 degrees F (hard-crack stage). Quickly pour over almonds. Sprinkle chips on top; let stand for 1-2 minutes or until melted. Spread and swirl chocolate over candy. Cool completely; break into pieces.
HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS: Putting the almonds under the toffee helps keep them on the candy. Also, this is just as good w/out the vanilla chips.|||I didnt know you could make it yoself!!!

Receipe for almond roca cake that is similar to the one made at the Beaverton Bakery in Oregon?
ALMOND ROCA CAKE
6 eggs plus 2 egg yolks
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, tightly packed
1/2 c. ground toasted almonds
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. finely grated lemon zest
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbs. unsalted butter, melted and lightly browned
Preheat oven to 350F. Butter and flour a 9 inch tube or bundt pan. Place eggs, yolks, and sugars in the metal bowl of an electric mixer. Place bowl over low heat and stir the eggs with your hand until the mixture becomes warm and you can feel that the sugar crystals have dissolved. (If your mixer does not have a metal bowl, use a glass one and place it over hot water). Place bowl on machine and beat for 10 minutes at medium speed. The eggs should be very thick and form a heavy ribbon. Add the almonds, vanilla and almond extracts, and zest to the eggs, and beat briefly. By hand, fold in the flour and salt in 3 portions. Work rapidly and gently so as not to deflate the egg volume. Drizzle on the browned butter and fold it in. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, place pan on a cookie sheet, and put cake in the oven. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the cake shrinks slightly from the side of the pan and a cake tester comes out clean when inserted at a central point. Let cool for 10 minutes, then unmold cake onto a rack. Let cool completely. To prepare the syrup, bring the sugar and water to a simmer in a small saucepan. Let simmer 3 minutes, then remove from the heat and cool briefly. Stir in Amaretto. Make glaze. Immediately pour it over the top of the cake. Slice the cake in half horizontally through the center and drizzle the hot syrup over the cut sides. Let cool, then spread on chocolate glaze. Reform cake and smooth it on in a rough fashion, then press the broken portions of toffee over the surface. Let the glaze cool and harden. Serve with whipped cream.
SYRUP:
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. water
Amaretto to taste (at least 2 tbs)
1 recipe thick chocolate glaze
16 to 20 oz. Almond Roca broken into small bits, some as large as 1" square whipped cream
THICK CHOCOLATE GLAZE:
4 oz. semisweet chocolate chips or grated squares
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
5 tbs. unsalted butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 to 5 tbs. confectioners sugar
Prepare glaze by putting chocolate, sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan, then cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Let the mixture cook at a slow boil for 3 minutes. Off the heat, stir in the butter 1 tb. at a time, then add the vanilla and confectioners sugar. Stir until the glaze cools slightly and is a nice spreading consistency.|||Almond roca Recipe

1/2 c Walnuts ground in a blender
Melt butter over high heat. Add sugar, stirring until it foams up
well. Continue over high heat, adding almonds. Continue to cook,
stirring continually until mixture is color of mahogany and sugar is
all melted. (Take it off the heat for a moment if it starts to smoke.)
Stir as you take it off the heat permanently and pour quickly onto
your biggest flat pan with sides. Tilt to spread evenly. After 5
minutes, pour on chocolate chips. When they have melted a bit, spread
them over the top of the hot mixture with a rubber scraper. Scatter
ground walnuts over the top, shaking to distribute evenly.
Candy is thoroughly cooled when the chocolate is dull looking. (Cool
at least three hours at room temperature.) Break into pieces and it's
